Current COVID-19 Guidelines

In Person Worship Services at Farmington UMC

December 2021 Update: Until the NY mask mandate is lifted on January 15th, we will be requiring everyone to wear a mask while in the church building except when speaking from the pulpit. We do not do this out of fear but out of concern for others because of the rising number of cases in our area. We know that not everyone will agree with this decision. Others will feel safer because of it. We pray that no matter where we stand on this issue, we can keep our focus on worshiping and serving Jesus Christ. Paul wrote, “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: ‘Love you neighbor as yourself.’”

Please see below for regular guidelines for our in-person worship services. New updates will be posted as they are made available. We hope that this will help you to plan, and know what you can expect when attending a worship service with us. Of course, please see our Online Worship Services as well if this is a more comfortable option for you.

Persons who have been fully vaccinated for a minimum of two weeks are able to remove their masks in the building and during the service if you choose and feel comfortable.

We do ask that those who do not fall under this description, and those who desire, please continue to follow our existing FUMC policy for mask-wearing which states: “Masks are to be worn when in the building. Masks can be removed when you are seated in place with the appropriate social distancing of 6 feet or more. Specific to worship services, masks are to be worn when up and moving around the building. Masks can be removed when seated in your family group. Masks must be worn during singing, whether standing or seated.”

Kids Mask Policy
All kids over 2 are asked to wear masks in the classrooms and moving about in the church. Teachers will also wear masks whether they are vaccinated or not.
If your child is not comfortable wearing a mask they may join parents in the sanctuary and after settling in remove them while sitting. Our children and families health is top priority. Thanks for your help!
